This course is for those who need to understand the basics of writing requests for proposals (RFP) or qualifications. It touches on the basic element of an RFP for services for a sustainable project, as well as some of the issues to be considered, including thoroughly understanding the cost and schedule implications of such requirements, should they be included.

At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe green building, sustainable design and development and its overall goal in the marketplace
  • Define the difference between a Request for Qualification and Request for Proposal
  • Explain the core elements of an RFP for a sustainable project as well as some of the issues to be considered
  • Identify the guarantees that should never be made on a green building project
