It is good practice to routinely conduct pre-pour inspections, since they help catch costly mistakes. An important component of a pre-pour checklist involves forms. Proper form preparation and inspection are the first steps to getting the most out your formwork. Daily cleaning and a comprehensive maintenance schedule will also have a noticeable effect on the overall quality of the final precast product. This course will provide essential information about forms that is required for quality precast products. This course will also discuss the history and evolution of forms over the years; and new technologies and finishes related to forms.

At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Properly prepare and inspect a new form for pouring by seasoning the form
  • Employ cleaning methods to extend the life of the form
  • Recall the aspects of the history of forms
  • Identify new technologies related to forms
